What we keep, and what we don’t.

The app and this website are separate. Screenshots stay on your Mac. The download is just the app file — we don’t ask for an email on this site.

What we collect

In the app you confirm an email with a one-time code. We store that address, and a license derived from it. The app does not send screenshots, files, or other account data. Captures stay in ~/Pictures/Screenshell.

This site counts how often the app file is fetched. Those counts don’t store your IP or browser. Vercel, who hosts the site, keeps short server logs. Vercel Analytics counts visits without marketing cookies.

Why

The beta is free in exchange for a real email, so we can ask what to build next. We do not sell the list.

That is consent. You can withdraw it any time.

How to delete

In Screenshell, open the menu → Account… → Delete my data. That removes your address from our server. You can also write to jar.appstudio@gmail.com.

How long

We keep the address until you delete it.

Who processes it

Vercel hosts the site. Resend delivers the code emails. Translate downloads a language model once, then works offline. Sparkle checks this site for updates — a file download, not a profile.

Your rights

You can ask what we have, correct it, or have it deleted. If you want to complain to a data-protection authority, you can. There is no account to log into on the web.

Who runs Screenshell is on the Legal page. Contact: jar.appstudio@gmail.com.

Cookies

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. The site works without them.
